We are passionate about helping the Next Generation connect with one another, their world and with God in ways that impact their lives
The Next Gen ministry provides teenagers to young adults a place where they can be themselves while discovering the truth of who they are in God’s eyes and how He desires to give them guidance in their daily lives.
Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm, 7th and 8th graders come together in the Family Life Center at Thanksgiving to discover God’s truth and how it can change their lives. Throughout the year, they will connect with God, one another and their world in various ways. Pizza is served from 6:00-6:30pm for those who want to grab a quick dinner and relax with friends.
Confirmation is a part of our Lutheran heritage that junior high students can choose to participate in. The confirmation teachings occur on four retreat days, held in the Family Life Center throughout the year.
For Lutherans, confirmation is an important milestone in a student’s life where they are encouraged to publicly profess their faith before the congregation. Confirmation is generally a two-year process. If you would like to learn more about your child being confirmed, please email Pastor Billy.
Just as with the adults at Thanksgiving, we encourage our senior high students to participate in Life Groups called D-Teams. These groups meet in homes about once a week.
D-Teams provide an opportunity to connect with others who are desiring to learn more about God and ways they can live out their faith in their schools and friend groups. Additionally, senior high students are invited to “Senior High Live” the first Wednesday of the month in the Family Life Center at church. Here, they will come together to worship and experience God in meaningful ways.
The transition from high school to adulthood can be difficult. We gather a group of young people about twice a month to have fun while encouraging one another to live in a way that expresses the promises that God has for each one’s future. Your first step to connect with other Young Adults at Thanksgiving is to email Pastor Billy.
